Explore the world of business and prepare yourself for certifications such as CFA, CPA and Certified Human Resources Leader.If you're interested in applying to the Commerce (Co-op) program, apply via the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using code DCC.
If you're interested in applying to the Commerce program without co-op or are a student with previous post-secondary studies, apply via OUAC using code DBC. Note: Students with previous post-secondary studies can only opt into a co-op program after the completion of a transfer-credit assessment.

Integrating key business functions with the use and understanding of today’s latest technologies, this program provides you with the skills necessary for employment in a competitive market.
The first two years of the program have a common curriculum featuring simulations, teamwork and case studies. In your third year, you may choose one of the following five majors:
Majors

Accounting
The Accounting major provides excellent preparation for an exciting career as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Our program is accredited by CPA Ontario and students who complete all required courses are eligible to enter the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). Accounting graduates can also complete the first four modules of the CPA PEP at Â鶹´«Ã½ University by obtaining the graduate diploma in Accounting during the summer following graduation. CPAs have a vast range of career opportunities in every industry and sector of the economy, including senior management positions. You will acquire the most up-to-date knowledge a CPA needs, including the skills and abilities required to pursue the CPA designation.

Finance
This major prepares you for the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) Global Education Inc. exam, the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst, and a successful career in the financial service industry.

Marketing
This area of study develops and deepens your knowledge of consumer behaviour, marketing research, digital marketing and strategy formulation in a dynamic environment.

Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management
This major will help you develop the skills and knowledge required to transform an organization's most important asset, human capital, into a sustainable competitive advantage. It prepares you for a human resources career, providing you with the courses needed to pursue the Certified Human Resources Leader professional designation.

Technology Management
The Technology Management major is for students interested in interdisciplinary studies in commerce and information technology. The program will develop your skills in data analytics, information systems, change management and data security.
You may also complete a minor from one of these areas, or in International Business or Entrepreneurship.

Admissions
Current Ontario secondary school students must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M credits including English (ENG4U) with a minimum average of 60 per cent and one of Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) or Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U) with a minimum average of 60 per cent.
Note: Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

You will gain firsthand business experience through internship work placements (locally or abroad) or Capstone study projects in which you work as a team to provide consulting services to one of our industry partners. .
