Step 1: Receive your Banner ID number
You must first receive your Banner number before applying for an Â鶹´«Ã½ Ucard.

Step 2: Submit your photo online
- Log in to your using your .
- Read and Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Review the photo requirements. If your photo does not meet the requirements, it will be rejected and you will be required to resubmit a new photo and your government-issued ID.
- Select the Tap to upload your photo box and either take your photo on-the-spot if using a mobile device or select a photo you already have saved.
- Click Next.
- Upload a copy of your valid government-issued photo ID by selecting the Tap to upload your photo box. Once your photo is approved, your government-issued ID is fully deleted from the system. Valid government-issued photo ID includes: Driver's licence, passport, Canadian citizenship card, permanent resident card, provincial photo ID card. Please ensure all four corners of your government-issued photo ID are showing. Images must be jpg or png.
- Click Next.
- Once you are satisfied with your photo and copy of government issued ID, click Save & Submit.

Step 3: Wait for your approval email
If your photo meets our Ucard requirements, you will receive an approval email to your within 2 to 3 business days.
Note: If your online photo submission does not meet our requirements and is rejected, you will receive an email directing you to resubmit a new photo and your government-issued ID. -
Step 4: Access your Ucard
Once you have received your approval email, access your digital Ucard through our Â鶹´«Ã½ Mobile app.
If you require a physical card to access proximity-enabled rooms on-campus, please submit the appropriate request to the (OCIS).If you are a clinical instructor in the Nursing program and you require a nursing badge, please email ucard@ontariotechu.ca.
Current faculty and staff
If you have an approved photo on file, you can access your digital Ucard through the Â鶹´«Ã½ Mobile app. If you already have a physical Ucard, please click the button below for more information.
- If you already have a physical Ucard, you can continue using it.
- If you require a replacement Ucard or nursing badge due to loss, theft, damage or another reason, please email ucard@ontariotechu.ca for assistance. Note: A $25 replacement fee will apply for physical Ucards and a $2 replacement fee will apply for nursing badges.
Student employees
If you are a student and also employed at Â鶹´«Ã½ University, your Ucard will only reflect one status. The employee (Staff or Faculty) status takes precedence over the Student status.
- Physical Ucards are issued with the status on an account at the time of printing. Existing cardholders do not require a new card to reflect status changes.
- The physical Ucard is mainly issued for proximity access to rooms, and said access can be enabled on the existing card upon request as outlined in our .
- If a new card is required due to loss, theft, damage, or for any other reasons, a $25 replacement fee will apply.
