  • Is the U-Pass available to part-time students?

    Part-time students are not eligible for the U-Pass. If you have accommodations and have requested full-time fees, please email upass@ontariotechu.ca for further assistance.

  • Can I opt-out of the U-Pass fee?
    The U-Pass fee is a mandatory ancillary fee for eligible, full-time students. For more information on this mandatory fee, please visit our .
  • Is the U-Pass transferable?
    The U-Pass is non-transferable and cannot be issued to a personal email address.
  • What happens if my phone loses power during my travels?
    You would be required to pay for your fare if you cannot present a valid U-Pass when boarding. To avoid paying this fee, please ensure that your phone is always charged. The University has installed charging stations on campus for students to use.
  • Does the U-Pass use additional data on my phone?

    Yes, the one-time initial download of the  will use data on your phone. To avoid any data usage, please make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

    Once the app has been downloaded to your device and you’ve signed in, data will no longer be required to access and display your U-Pass E-Ticket.
