Upcoming Talk: Building the Path to Equitable Genetics and Genomics Care for Indigenous Patients in Canada
The Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ University are co-hosting a free talk by Dr. Laura Arbour from the University of British Columbia (UBC) on Building the Path to Equitable Genetics and Genomics Care for Indigenous Patients in Canada.
Dr. Arbour is a Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at UBC’s Island Medical Program and an Affiliate Professor in the Division of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Victoria. Her research, funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, explores maternal-child health and the genetic components of Indigenous health across the life course. She leads the Community Genetics Research program at the University of Victoria and collaborates with First Nations and Inuit partners on multiple projects.
