Changes to Campus Corners building and elevator access effective Monday, April 7
Beginning Monday, April 7, access to the Campus Corners building will be managed through proximity (prox) card readers: contactless devices that allow entry by swiping a university-issued prox card. New access details are outlined below. The building will no longer have a security guard positioned at the desk; instead, random security patrols of the building will take place throughout the day.
Employees
- Building access:
- Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., the two main entrances to the elevator lobby will be unlocked.
- Outside of these hours, you’ll need your prox card to access the building.
- Elevator access:
- At all times, you’ll need your prox card to operate elevators.
Visitors
Upon arrival, visitors will need to use the phone at the desk and call the employee they are visiting using the directory provided. Employees will need to meet the visitor in the lobby and escort them to their office area. Those who parked in the lot will need to record their license plate in the log provided at the desk.
What do I need to do?
If you need a new or updated prox card, speak with your department’s Administrative Assistant or contact ocisbuildingops@ontariotechu.ca for assistance.
Reminder: You can reach Campus Security by dialing ext. 2400 from an internal phone or calling 905.721. 3211 from a mobile/external phone.
Thank you for your co-operation in ensuring a smooth transition to these new security measures.
