How to prepare your shared mailboxes for the upcoming transition of ontariotechu.ca email to the cloud

If you are a faculty or staff member who uses shared mailboxes, please review the information below and complete any necessary steps before Thursday, February 20.

In preparation for the :

  • Record the names of the shared mailbox(es) you currently access.
  • If any shared mailboxes require a username and password, ensure you record the login information. If you need help determining whether your account requires login credentials, please check our .
  • If you are unsure of the username or password required for existing shared mailboxes, Information Technology (IT) Services advises co-ordinating with other users of the mailbox to obtain this information. The IT Service Desk does not keep a record of the shared mailbox passwords.
  • If a shared mailbox password needs to be changed, only the mailbox owners can request the reset. Once the password is reset, all members of the shared mailbox will need to log in again using the new password.

Important reminders:

  • The transition is scheduled between 6 p.m. on Friday, February 21 and 6 a.m. on Monday, February 24.
  • While Information Technology Services is completing this work, you will not be able to access your ontariotechu.ca email using Outlook on your desktop, web (email.ontariotechu.ca) or mobile device.
