Office of Research Services hosting First Nations Principles of OCAP® workshop
Â鶹´«Ã½’s Office of Research Services and Campus Library will host a two-day interactive, in-depth virtual workshop on - led by the First Nations Information Governance Centre.
Using historical and contemporary examples, participants will explore the principles of OCAP®, data sovereignty, research and data management. They will also consider how OCAP® can be respected within their current work. Everyone who holds or interacts with First Nations and Indigenous data and information will benefit from understanding these principles.
Workshop dates and times:
- Cohort 1 – 10 a.m. to noon on:
- Wednesday, June 19
- Thursday, June 20
- Cohort 2 – 10 a.m. to noon on:
- Wednesday, June 26
- Thursday, June 27
To ensure an optimal learning experience in an interactive environment, only 25 spots are available per cohort. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants must commit to attending the workshop on both days. University community members conducting Indigenous research, or who hold or interact with First Nations and Indigenous data and information, will receive priority in the first cohort.
