Register for safeTALK: Suicide Prevention Training – February 12
The university’s Wellness at Work team invites faculty and staff to participate in an upcoming safeTALK: Suicide Alertness for Everyone (SAFE) training session facilitated by the Canadian Mental Health Association.
You can't always tell when a loved one or friend is considering suicide, and it can be difficult to know how to help. Participants in this workshop will learn the ‘TALK’ steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep Safe), which will help them recognize signs of suicide, engage the individual, and ensure a connection to safety. They will also learn how to activate a suicide alert. Participants will receive a certificate from the suicide-prevention training centre.
- When: Monday, February 12 from 1 to 4 p.m.
- Where: Shawenjigewining Hall, Room 024
