Add writing support from the Student Learning Centre to your class, using Canvas
The has developed importable writing support modules to assist students in your courses. The modules can be combined with your curriculum or used on a stand-alone basis. Instructors can import the modules from the Canvas Commons directly into their Canvas courses by following the instructions in .
The modules provide students with the resources they need to help complete their assignments. We hope that better-prepared students will lead to improved success in their assignments and in your courses.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Student Learning Centre: Writing Support module is designed to help undergraduate students write better assignments. It includes information on instructor expectations; differences between types of assignments; the writing process; structuring an essay with introductory, body and concluding paragraphs; thesis statements; and APA 7th ed. in-text citations and references.
The second module, Â鶹´«Ã½ Student Learning Centre: Writing for Business, introduces business communication and the writing process. It covers frequent areas of concern such as business style, email writing, and business reports. Additionally, it provides students with support for integrating evidence in their work as well as writing in groups.

Many students seek our support based on the recommendations of their professors, so please keep the SLC in mind as you work with them.
Writing Specialists also provide in-class workshops, assignment specific support sessions and tip sheets with the goal of improving the students’ academic writing in order to successfully complete class assignments.
