Nominations open for Celebrate Teaching! Awards
The Teaching and Learning Centre announces nominations for the Celebrate Teaching! Awards are open until Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5 p.m.
The awards highlight excellence in teaching, teaching innovation, and educational leadership at Â鶹´«Ã½. Nominees will be evaluated based on their teaching in the 2023 calendar year.
There are seven awards open for nominations. Full details of each award, as well as a guide to submitting nominations, are available on the .
- Award for Excellence in Teaching
Recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates sustained and superior achievements in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, as well as educational service and leadership. Deans of each faculty will select one top nominee to submit to the Selection Committee.
- Early Career Teaching Award
Recognizes innovation and excellence in teaching by individuals in the first five years of their teaching career (as of December 31, 2023).
- Learning Reimagined Award
Recognizes individuals or groups who demonstrate unique and original solutions to specific problems of practice in their classes.
- Open Education Award
Recognizes individuals or groups who act by contributing, attributing, releasing, and empowering the use of open educational practices throughout our campuses and beyond.
- Student Choice Awards
Awarded to the top student-nominated professor or instructor in each faculty who contributes to teaching and learning within our campus community.
- Teaching Assistant Award
Recognizes teaching assistants who demonstrate superior commitment to their students through effective teaching.
- Tim McTiernan Student Mentorship Award
Recognizes individuals who consistently demonstrate a passion for supporting student success, an ability to inspire personal and professional growth and an outstanding commitment to promoting the values of the university.
Winners will be announced at the upcoming Celebrate Teaching! Awards ceremony in March 2024. We hope that you will join us in celebrating teaching excellence in our Â鶹´«Ã½ community!
