Support AskMe initiative by wearing a button

From Tuesday, September 5 to Friday, September 8, AskMe information booths will be stationed across the university’s north Oshawa campus location, as well as at Charles Hall, to welcome new and returning students to campus. Faculty, staff and student volunteers will lead these booths. Virtual help (run by a Student Engagement and Equity staff member) will also be available for those who prefer speaking to someone online.

New for 2023-2024, the Office of Student Life will offer AskMe buttons to any staff, faculty, or student who are unable to volunteer at the booths. These buttons will let students know they can stop and ask you questions about supports and resources, or ask for directions.

How to wear an AskMe button:
  • Stop by any AskMe information booth between September 5 and 8.
  • Provide your contact information for tracking purposes.
  • Wear your button throughout the first week of classes.
  • Watch for an email on the week of Monday, September 11 that will tell you how to schedule a time to return your button.

AskMe button-wearers will receive no formal training. However, if you would like a copy of Student Life’s AskMe information booklet, which includes up-to-date campus resources, contact engagement@ontariotechu.ca.
