Encourage girls to consider emergency service careers and volunteer for Camp Molly Durham
Camp Molly Durham is looking for your support to help girls see themselves in emergency services careers.
The camp aims to empower and challenge young girls from across the Durham Region, providing them with a glimpse into the world of fire and emergency services careers.
Camp Molly Durham will take place from Thursday, September 14 to Sunday, September 17 at the Oshawa Airport. It is open to young women aged 15 to 18 who are attending school in Durham Region. Oshawa Fire will host the first Camp Molly Durham, and firefighters from all over Ontario and other provinces will lead the camp and run various activities like Fire Prevention, Communications, Auto Extrication, Ladders, and Hoses.
For this camp to be successful, the support of dedicated volunteers is needed. Camp Molly Durham is looking for approximately 80 volunteers each day to lead and support the event. You can choose to volunteer for one or more days; every contribution is valuable.
Throughout the four-day camp, the girls will experience various activities, culminating in a Combat Challenge and Graduation ceremony.
Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
To sign up as a volunteer, you can register on the main website or contact Oshawa Fire Services Chief Communications Officer Sandra Mackey for more details.
