Â鶹´«Ã½ University is committed to the proper management of hazardous waste. This commitment minimizes risk to employees and students and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
Â鶹´«Ã½’s Hazardous Waste Management Program guides our campus community on the safe disposal of hazardous waste. This program applies to all laboratory and other operations generating hazardous waste in the form of:
- Biological
- Chemical
- Radioactive
- Sharps
The basic elements of the Hazardous Waste Management Program are:
- Waste minimization
- Packaging requirements
- Labelling requirements
- Storage requirements
Â鶹´«Ã½’s waste handling procedures are mandatory for preparing waste for disposal. Waste not prepared in accordance to these procedures will not be accepted for disposal.
