Complete Durham Region’s nuclear emergency preparedness survey

The Region of Durham, in collaboration with the Social Research Centre (SRC) at Â鶹´«Ã½ University, has launched a survey to learn more about residents’ understanding of nuclear emergency preparedness.

Background:

The Region of Durham co-ordinates regional emergency responses, maintains the nuclear public alerting system, and leads various emergency preparedness drills and exercises. This year’s will help determine how much residents know about general and nuclear emergency preparedness. The information gathered from the survey directly assists and influences the Region’s planning and public-education initiatives. Durham Region is committed to making sure residents are informed and ready in the event of an emergency.

How to have your say:

The is available until July 2023 and is open to all Durham Region residents 18 years and older. Residents who participated in previous years’ surveys are encouraged to take part this year once again. To help ensure the best quality data, Durham Emergency Management seeks a diverse range and large number of participants from all Durham Region municipalities. Participants who complete the survey can enter to win an emergency preparedness kit.
