SSHRC Storytellers Challenge: How social sciences and humanities research affects us

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has launched its 10th-annual , which asks post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research affects their lives and their world.

The challenge is open to all students, graduate and undergraduate, enrolled at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Students can send in their best three-minute or 300-word pitch promoting a SSHRC-funded research project happening at our university. Students can pitch their own research project or a professor’s, with permission.

A jury will select 25 finalists to receive $3,000 and specialized training in research communications. At the 2023 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, the final five winners will be revealed and will receive an additional $1,000 in recognition of their skills and achievement.
