Physical and Health Education Canada approves Â鶹´«Ã½ student chapter
(PHE), a national charitable association that promotes quality health and physical education opportunities and healthy learning environments, has approved a new student chapter at Â鶹´«Ã½ University.
This is the first PHE student chapter approved at a Canadian university.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ PHE Canada student chapter aims to empower the university’s pre-service educators to think outside the box and embed physical activity in their classrooms to optimize student learning and well-being.
The chapter’s goals include:
- Building professional networks by connecting with provincial and territorial PHE teacher associations and champions.
- Planning, promoting and running meaningful peer-to-peer events that increase awareness of the benefits and approaches to physical activity across the school day.
- Raising funds to support emerging PHE educators in need of financial support to attend a student leadership experience where they can connect with Canada’s PHE mentors, a community of experts and leading practitioners.
