Indigenous Education and Cultural Services to host Visiting Elder - October 3 to 7

Indigenous Education and Cultural Services will host Mohawk Elder Pat Green virtually the week of Monday, October 3 to Friday, October 7 as part of the university’s Visiting Elder program.

provides the university with an opportunity to learn from an Indigenous Elder. Elders are important members of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities and are recognized for their knowledge, experience, wisdom, harmony and balance.

Elder Green is a Mohawk, wolf clan, from Six Nations Ontario. He is a father, grandfather, brother, partner and uncle. Elder Green is a pipe carrier, sweat lodge keeper, drummer and lead singer, traditional dancer, and speaker.

Elder Green has spent his career helping Indigenous people in various capacities, including:

  • Secretary of State
  • Employment and Immigration
  • Corrections Canada
  • Native Child and Family Services
  • Addiction Counselling
  • Other various Native centres

Elder Green can be booked for one-on-one virtual appointments with students, faculty and staff. He will also be available for virtual classroom visits. for a visit today.
