Invitation to participate in the university’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Self-Identification Survey

The university has official launched a comprehensive . All faculty and staff are invited to complete the survey as soon as possible.

Â鶹´«Ã½ is a vibrant home to people of many different backgrounds, cultures and identities. We aim to be a place where every person belongs and is free to grow their skill sets and mindsets. Standing firm on this value requires learning more about the people who conduct research, teach, work and learn at the university so we can continue to drive initiatives that prioritize reconciliation, remove systemic barriers, and enable all faculty, staff and students, of all identities, to thrive in an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment.

The success of the EDI Self-Identification Survey relies on the participation of our university community. The survey is quick, confidential and voluntary; it will take you less than five minutes to complete, and was developed through internal consultation and reference to higher-education best practices. You will be able to self-identify in terms of gender, Indigeneity, race and ethnicity, disability, 2SLGBTQIA+ status, religious beliefs, family-care responsibilities, and language use/preferences.

The responses to this survey will contribute to ongoing EDI efforts by deepening our understanding of our community and supporting a data-driven approach to advancing a truly inclusive campus. The information gathered will keep the university accountable to its values of Integrity and Inclusion as we focus on equipping future leaders to solve complex problems. The university’s Office of Institutional Research and Analysis will keep your responses confidential and ensure that the collected data is only used by the university to inform, prioritize, design and evaluate EDI strategy and initiatives.

is only open to faculty and staff at this time. Students and all other employment groups will have an opportunity to complete the survey starting in September 2022.
