Scheduled testing of Shawenjigewining Hall’s fire alarm – Thursday, February 10

The university will conduct fire alarm testing on Thursday, February 10 at Shawenjigewining Hall located at the university’s north Oshawa campus location.

Testing and inspection will take place approximately from 5 to 11 p.m. and will include an audibility test along with flashing emergency lights in corridors. There is also a need to access rooms during the audible test. Please keep this in mind when scheduling meetings with internal or external parties.

During the test, the alarm can be ignored. In the event of a fire, a clear announcement will be made to occupants.

The university realizes an exercise of this nature can be an unwanted distraction; however, it is necessary to maintain the highest level of safety for faculty, staff, students and visitors.
