Join Student Life’s Bannock and Books book club
February 14 marks the 31st anniversary of the . The WMM began as a way to commemorate the life of Cheryl Ann Joe, an Indigenous woman who was murdered in downtown Vancouver in January 1992. The event has expanded to honour the lives of all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited individuals (MMIWG2S+).
Â鶹´«Ã½’s and Durham College’s First Peoples Indigenous Centre hosted the Honouring Stolen Sisters event to remember all MMIWG2S+. Education and awareness continue through the Bannock and Books book club.
