Celebrate Teaching! Award nominations open until February 25

Nominations for the Celebrate Teaching! Awards are open until Friday, February 25. These awards recognize faculty, instructors or graduate teaching assistants who show an outstanding commitment to teaching and student success at Â鶹´«Ã½. Nominees should be nominated for their teaching in 2021. 

There are seven awards, including the Award for Excellence in Teaching, where a top nominee is selected for consideration from each faculty:

  • Award for Excellence in Teaching
    Recognizing the top teachers from each faculty. This can include tenured, tenure-track, and teaching faculty. The dean is responsible for selecting the single faculty nominee to present to the award selection committee. The nomination package requires four letters of support.

  • Early Career Teaching Award
    For those who are in the first five years of their teaching career (as of Friday, December 31, 2021). The nomination package requires two letters of support.

  • Learning Re-imagined Award
    Formerly the Teaching Innovation Award, this award recognizes innovative teaching practices, and accepts self-nominations.

  • Openness in Education Award
    This award acknowledges excellence in open educational practices. It is also open to team or group nominations.

  • Teaching Assistant Excellence Award
    This award recognizes an excellent teaching assistant and requires two letters of support.

  • Tim McTiernan Student Mentorship Award
    Excellence in teaching can be embodied in any community member at Â鶹´«Ã½. This could be a faculty member, staff member, or student. Students submit nominations for this award.

  • Student Choice Award
    Students complete a short nomination for this award.

Nominations are due by Friday, February 25 at 4:30 p.m.
