Vaccination directive extended to Fall 2022; everyone must upload proof of vaccination
The university has extended its to at least Fall 2022. A reminder to all employees and all other individuals coming to any campus location that they are required to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 17. As the university approaches the October 17 date for mandatory double-dose vaccinations, we are also preparing for a greater on-campus presence from our employee community in the coming months.
What do I need to do?
Upload your proof of vaccination or approved accommodation using the university’s daily online (via the mobile app or the website) as soon as possible, if you haven’t done so already.
During the summer the university communicated that we would implement a mandatory vaccination directive as an additional measure to keep our campus community safe from COVID-19. This has been extended to at least Fall 2022.
Since September 3, only individuals with at least their first dose of the vaccine have been permitted on campus. As of Sunday, October 17, only those who have received their second dose (in the case of a two-dose series) or their complete single dose (in the case of a single-dose vaccine) will be permitted on campus. Those with proof of an approved accommodation will also be permitted on campus.
As the university approaches the October 17 date for mandatory double-dose vaccinations, we are also preparing for and expecting a greater on-campus presence from our employee community in the coming months. Uploading proof of vaccination will enable employees to participate in more balanced remote/on-campus work arrangements.
Notes:
- Proof of vaccination status must be in the form of an official government-issued document or the document received from the organization that administered your vaccine.
- You only need to upload your vaccination proof once.
- After you upload your documentation, you still need to complete the (via the mobile app and the website) each day you come to campus, prior to your arrival, until further notice.
The university will continue to follow existing health and safety protocols, including mask wearing, hand hygiene, physical distancing, and other possible measures. We will continue to re-evaluate these processes based on measures put in place by the Province of Ontario and Durham Region Health Department guidelines.
Thank you for doing your part to keep one another safe and to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and its variants, now and over the long term.
