Applications open for the John Charles Polanyi Prizes

To honour the achievement of John Charles Polanyi, recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize in chemistry, the Government of Ontario established a fund to provide up to five prizes annually to outstanding researchers in the early stages of their careers.

Value: $20,000

Deadline: Wednesday, December 1

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be normally be a resident of Ontario.
  • Have received their doctoral degree from a recognized university on or after September 1, 2018. If the doctoral degree has not yet been awarded, the applicant must be confident that they will complete all degree requirements by Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
  • Plan to continue to post-doctoral studies or hold a faculty appointment in a recognized, publicly-funded university in Ontario.
  • Study in the area of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, or economic science.
