Changes to Â鶹´«Ã½ University and Durham College shared services email addresses

is updating email addresses for shared services departments at Â鶹´«Ã½ University and Durham College. Employees with dc-uoit.ca as their primary email domain will have their primary domain changed to either ontariotechu.ca or durhamcollege.ca effective Friday, August 27.

This change is necessary to allow both institutions to further integrate into Microsoft cloud services to unlock more-powerful and cost-effective services from Microsoft Azure and Office 365. To do so, each institution must use its own primary email domain to access the cloud.

Those impacted will be contacted directly by IT Services. Once the domain is changed, the email address displayed will appear as sent from either the ontariotechu.ca or durhamcollege.ca domain. IT Services will make the change automatically. No further action is required.

The dc-uoit.ca domain will still be maintained as an alias for those whose email address was modified, and they will still be able to receive emails sent to their dc-uoit.ca email address.

Employees whose primary email domain is already ontariortechu.ca or durhamcollege.ca or are not affected.

Currently, there are no plans to make similar updates for group mailbox or service accounts. If departments are interested in updating the domain for their group mailboxes or service accounts, please contact the IT Service Desk at ext. 3333.
