Â鶹´«Ã½ wins gold at national food services competition
Â鶹´«Ã½ University partnered with the university’s food services provider, to participate in the national conference, which took place June 28 through 30.
The university team competed against the Durham College and Compass Group team and the Queen’s University and Aramark team. Each team created a meal kit for at-home cooks while incorporating three secret ingredients: fresh cherries, oat milk and vegan mayo.
The conference concluded with an ‘Iron Chef’-style competition, where teams presented their menus in a pre-recorded video format.
Prizes included:
- Best dessert (judge-awarded).
- People’s Choice Award (voted by conference delegates).
- Judge-awarded medals: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ and Dana Hospitality team won the People’s Choice Award and the Gold Medal. The university’s three-course meal featured fresh herbs and honey cultivated on campus.
