Upcoming virtual planning information session: Insight into Fall 2021 - August 31
In the coming weeks, the university will hold its last of three virtual planning information session of the summer. The session will provide more insight as to what Fall 2021 will look like.
The university continues to base its planning assumptions on evolving public-health directives. The session will provide the most up-to-date information on our plans, as well as new and revised answers to frequently asked questions we’ve received over the last several months.
We encourage you to submit your questions to events@ontariotechu.ca by the Friday prior to the session. If time permits, you’ll also have an opportunity to ask additional questions during the event. Questions and answers will be posted on the Planning website after the sessions conclude.

It’s important to understand that while some operational decisions may change based on updated public-health directives, others may not. Many of our decisions regarding Fall offerings had to be made before summer to ensure proper planning and scheduling. Although the Province of Ontario recently released its reopening plan, there are not enough details yet to plan for a full campus reopening. At this time, we continue to plan for the majority of our courses to have a component (e.g. labs or tutorials) take place on campus, while larger lectures will have to be held online.
Recognizing that some students may continue to face health or travel restrictions that prevent them from attending in-person classes, we will offer both online and in-class options for some courses. Decisions on the mode of delivery will be determined on a course-by-course basis and as public-health guidelines allow.
Thank you again for your continued patience. We remain optimistic about the possibility of returning to campus this fall, most likely in a staged approach. All signs point to better days ahead, and we look forward to seeing more of you on campus in September as we work collectively to provide the best possible experience for our students.
