Help celebrate the class of 2021
This year, Â鶹´«Ã½ has decided to hold Convocation ceremonies in a new virtual format as a way of honouring graduating students while adhering to public-health guidelines. The celebrations will include the sharing of online messages and videos to encourage and congratulate new graduates.
The Communications and Marketing department invites faculty and staff to submit four- to 15-second congratulatory video clips. Once the virtual Convocation ceremonies have concluded, we will post the videos on the university’s Convocation celebration website and social media channels.
Not comfortable speaking on camera but still want to be involved? We are also looking for clips of dancing and cheering to help us recreate our tradition of the platform party dancing out of the Tribute Communities Centre at the end of each Convocation ceremony.
If you’re interested in participating, send your clips to socialmedia@ontariotechu.ca before Monday, May 31.
Tips for recording your video
- Videos shot on handheld devices are preferred.
- If you need help, have someone hold the device for you in close proximity, or learn how you can .
- Make sure your video is vertical in orientation.
- Record your video in a well-lit and quiet space.
- The light source should be in front/facing you to avoid a backlit video.
- Filming outdoors is great, but make sure it isn’t a windy day and you’re not competing against other sounds from nature or your neighbours.
