Data Privacy Day – January 28

Observed annually on January 28 in countries around the world, Data Privacy Day raises awareness around the importance of respecting privacy and protecting personal information.

This year’s theme, Own Your Privacy, will focus on how we can protect our privacy during daily activities such as working or studying online, exploring new interests or activities, learning new things, playing games, shopping online or even binge-watching a show.

We are connected to our laptops and mobile devices more than ever before, which increases the risk for personal information to be tracked, shared, or exposed. Visit the university’s for tips on how to keep your personal information private.

More about Data Privacy Day:

Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the  celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection.
