Campus Safety Week videos and resources, and Alertus emergency notification testing on January 14
Â鶹´«Ã½ University is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy learning, living, social, recreational and working environment for all members of the campus community.
During Campus Safety Week (Monday, January 11 through Friday, January 15), the university’s Office of Campus Safety (OCS) will share a series of videos and other resources that highlight campus safety services and how various areas and initiatives across the university help keep our campus community safe.
Areas of focus will include:
- Information Technology Services
- Campus Health Centre
- Sexual violence
- Campus residence
- Paragon Security
- Campus Emergency Response Team
- Student conduct
- COVID-19
Watch the university’s main social media channels this week for some of these highlights.
In addition, on Thursday, January 14 at 11 a.m., OCS will test Alertus, the university’s mass notification system used to notify faculty, staff and students of high-priority, active threats on campus. The test should take approximately two minutes.
During the test, you will receive an emergency notification:
- On your mobile device, if you’ve installed the Alertus Mobile App.
- On your desktop, if your laptop is connected to the university’s virtual private network (VPN).
If you haven’t done so already, download and install the free Alertus Mobile App on your iPhone or Android mobile devices. Installation instructions are available on the university’s Alertus web page.
