Google Meet dial-in tips from IT Services

If you’ve been using Google Meet, you may have noticed that many have been introduced over the past few months, including the ability to use your phone for audio in your video meeting by .

Information Technology (IT) Services shares the following important tips to ensure you get the most out of the dial-in feature:

  • Continue using your @ontariotechu.net account to schedule a Google Meeting.
  • Provide your Google Meet attendees with the option to dial-in locally using a Canadian phone number, or choose a local dial-in number closest to their location. See Google's support website for a .
  • If you are a current faculty member, teaching assistant or staff member and are reusing Google Meet links with dial-in numbers from before October 1, 2020, create new links to include the local dial-in option. See Google’s support website for .
  • To check if your Google Meet links already include the local dial-in option, refer to the invite in your Google Calendar and look for the (CA) phone number as well as the More phone numbers option.
