Important session on mental health and suicide awareness – December 1

In Canada:

  • Approximately 11 people die by suicide each day, or about 4,000 each year.
  • One-third of deaths by suicide are among people between the ages of 45 and 59.
  • Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth and young adults 15 to 34 years of age.

On Tuesday, December 1, join facilitator Jack Veitch, Manager of Community Engagement and Education, Canadian Mental Health Association, to discuss the facts surrounding suicide in Canada. Learn what steps to take if you believe someone is experiencing thoughts of suicide.
