As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month (October), the Information Technology (IT) Services department will offer weekly tips on how to be more secure online.

This week’s tip: consider using multi-factor authentication

Have you noticed how often security breaches, stolen data and identity theft are front-page news these days? Perhaps you, or someone you know, have even had personal information, banking credentials or other sensitive data stolen by cyber criminals.

As these incidents become more prevalent, consider using multi-factor authentication: an electronic authentication method that grants you access to a website or application only after you successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence (or factors). Learn more by visiting the .
