Participate in Orange Shirt Day with the Â鶹´«Ã½ community - September 30

is designed to educate people and promote awareness about Canada’s former residential school system and the impact this system had on Indigenous peoples for more than a century. This day honours the legacy of the schools, survivors, intergenerational survivors and those who did not survive. Since 2013, the Orange Shirt campaign has provided all Canadians with an opportunity to participate by wearing an Orange Shirt in a collective act of reconciliation.

To promote awareness at the university, we encourage you to wear an orange shirt in support of the campaign, and join Elder Shirley Williams for a virtual Orange Shirt Day gathering at 10:30 a.m. on . A photo (screenshot) of participants will be taken during the event to commemorate the gathering.
