Webinar: Cooking with Anna – June 11

On Thursday, June 11, join Anna Mae Crespo, Pantry Technician at Durham College’s W. Galen Weston Centre for Food, for a cooking webinar. Anna will walk participants through a quick and easy recipe for a no-yeast flatbread that can be used as a pizza crust (see ingredients below). She will also discuss:

  • Tips and tricks for cutting vegetables.
  • Dessert ideas to go with this recipe.
  • How to include kids while cooking.

To participate, you will need:

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus a little extra when rolling out the dough)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream(any fat percentage)

Ingredients for pizza toppings (feel free to be creative!):

  • ¼ cup to ½ cup homemade or store bought tomato/pizza sauce
  • ¼ cup to ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, whatever you like)
  • protein (pepperoni, cooked chicken, leftover salmon)
  • vegetables (mushrooms, onion, zucchini, spinach)
  • olive oil

Tools:

  • oven
  • rolling pin or similar item (like a wine bottle)
  • spatula/flipper
  • spoons
  • stovetop frying pan
