Region of Durham and DRPS launch City Studio Durham
Interested in addressing local municipal challenges? Searching for a case study or group project for your class? Looking for a community-based capstone project?
The Region of Durham, in partnership with Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), has launched City Studio Durham, an online portal where municipal staff post regional projects for engagement with post-secondary faculty and students to engage in and co-create solutions.
Regional projects for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms are posted on the website. Post-secondary faculty members can log in to view project ideas, indicate interest in collaboration and submit their own project ideas for collaboration. Project topics include:
- waste management
- staffing stability in long-term care
- smart commutes
- allied health
- online community hubs
- energy
- taxation
- climate change
- driver attitudes
…and much more.
