FHSc student receives scholarship from True Sport Foundation

Kassidy Ford, a Master of Health Sciences student in Dr. Nick Wattie’s Applied Skill Acquisition in Sport Lab, recently received the 2020 Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund sport study scholarship.

The Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund is a national endowment fund established by life-long leader in sport, Lyle Makosky. The scholarship program provides annual financial awards to support the study of values and ethics-based challenges, and related policies affecting non-professional Canadian sport.

Ford, a recent graduate of the university’s Kinesiology program, and a former member of the Ridgebacks women’s hockey team, was recognized for her master’s research project, entitled Assessing academic, athletic and psychosocial outcomes among student-athletes in a unique partnership-based program.
