Reminder and update: Public presentations by candidates for Dean, Faculty of Education
Some concerns have been raised about the plan to use the livestream option for the Faculty of Education Dean Search public presentations, as it may inhibit interaction with the candidates. To this end, the presentation format has been changed to a regular Google Meet session. The revised links can be found below. Please mute your microphone upon entry to the meeting.
Each candidate will take questions after they have finished their presentation. Important note: To limit distraction to the candidate, please send questions to provost@ontariotechu.ca during the session, rather than using the chat function in Google Meet. Every effort will be made to try and get answers to incoming questions (as well as those that have already been submitted) within the timeframe allotted.
After the public presentations, you can provide your feedback on each candidate in writing. To ensure confidentiality, please send your feedback directly to Laverne Smith, representative with consulting firm Laverne Smith & Associates Inc. Due to tight timelines, the committee will need your feedback for consideration by Friday, May 22.
To maintain confidentiality, and to ensure the finalists are able to remain active in our search process, we will delay publicly releasing candidate names until shortly before the presentations. Please contact provost@ontariotechu.ca if you wish to review candidates’ CVs prior to the presentations.
Presentation schedule:
- Candidate 2: Wednesday, May 20 from 3 to 4 p.m. via
- Candidate 3: Thursday, May 21 from 9 to 10 a.m. via
Important note: Please access the Google Meet with your ontariotechu.net account. If you have not yet accessed your ontariotechu.net account, visit and enter your Banner or Student ID number and password. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you experience difficulties.
If you have any questions about the search process or presentations, contact Krista Hester, Assistant to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic. Thank you for your support and co-operation.
