FEAS faculty member’s and MSc student’s veterinary bone-grafting product approved by Health Canada

Dr. Amirkianoosh Kiani, Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS), together with FEAS Master of Science (MSc) student Mohammad Hossein Beigi, have worked together to develop ,  a new natural bone-grafting material for veterinary use.

Their venture is unique, in that it breaks a monopoly that exists in the bone grafting industry. It has received Health Canada approval for pets. The duo is now working on packaging and marketing the product. A human-grade product is also in development.

Dr. Kiani and Beigi participated in the workshop series and the earlier this year. They will also receive support and mentorship as part of the upcoming program.
