FBIT researcher publishes paper in Production and Operations Management journal

, Assistant Professor, , recently had his paper, entitled Modelling Red and Yellow alert durations for ambulance systems as partial busy periods, accepted for publication in Production and Operations Management (POM).*

Summary:

Emergency medical services try to avoid situations where they are overloaded and have only a few ambulances left to cover new calls. However, ambulance shortage periods happen more often than we think and this study proposes mathematical models to predict the duration of such periods and to handle them effectively.
