University continues to closely monitor COVID-19 situation and is reviewing emergency preparedness plans
The evolving situation regarding COVID-19 in Canada and the world has raised questions and concerns within the campus community. The university’s Senior Leadership Team, along with its Risk Management, Emergency Management Response and Health-Care teams, continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. If the need arises, the university will implement its emergency preparedness plans. Individual department/faculty leaders are currently reviewing existing plans. The university is staying in touch with the sector and sharing best practices through the Council of Ontario Universities, as well as Universities Canada.

The Government of Canada recently updated COVID-19-related travel notices to several countries. As you consider travel plans, it’s important to review these advisories, as well as the . If you’re considering or planning university-related travel to the countries deemed as high-risk, contact Jacquelyn Dupuis, Director, Risk Management, prior to departure.
The Government of Canada also advises that individuals who have travelled to high-risk areas, or those who have had close contact with someone who is ill with COVID-19, should and remain at home. The university will support self-isolation initiatives and faculty and staff who are self-isolating should contact their immediate supervisor; undergraduate students should contact their academic advisor and/or professors; and graduate students should contact their supervisors and/or graduate program director to make appropriate arrangements.
The university is currently running academic programming as usual. As events evolve, the university will communicate to the campus community following the advice of public health authorities. It’s important that everyone take all , including proper handwashing and self-isolation, as this situation unfolds.
