What is ‘moonshot’ thinking?

A moonshot idea occupies the precarious territory between possibility and science fiction. That's what makes it rare and special: driven by curiosity, imagination and vision, moonshot ideas address big problems and propose radical solutions utilizing innovative thinking and technology. They focus on massively transforming the status quo.

About the challenge

Hosted by Brilliant Catalyst, the Moonshot Challenge is open to all current Â鶹´«Ã½ students (undergraduate and graduate) who have an idea in any industry/sector. Students must submit their idea by Tuesday, February 25 for an opportunity to win one of two $5,000 cash prizes. The winners will work with Brilliant Catalyst to turn their idea into a reality!

Important dates:

  • Tuesday, February 25 – submission deadline
  • Tuesday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – mandatory workshop for finalists
  • Thursday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to noon – presentation day
