Introducing Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s new Ancillary Services department
The Office of Planning and Analysis has launched a dedicated Ancillary Services department to better serve the evolving needs of Â鶹´«Ã½’s growing campus. Following recent discussions with Durham College about the service model in existence since the university’s 2003 opening, Â鶹´«Ã½ concluded the time was appropriate to create its own Ancillary Services team.
Under the leadership of Melissa Price, Director, Ancillary Services, the new team will be responsible for food services, retail stores, the Regent Theatre and the Campus Childcare Centre. Melissa joined Â鶹´«Ã½ eight years ago and has been instrumental in the advancement of the university’s retail and food services portfolios. Her background in project management and commitment to developing a service-focused department made her an ideal candidate.
New campus store and food services provider coming soon
Â鶹´«Ã½ is currently negotiating an agreement with a third party to open a dedicated campus store offering books, course materials, branded merchandise and convenience items. The new university store will open Wednesday, April 1. It will be located near the main entrance to the Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre (ERC), in Room 1058. Note: Beginning Monday, February 3, ERC Room 1058 will no longer be available for meetings or events.
The university is also in the process of identifying a food services provider for university buildings; watch for an announcement this spring. Ancillary Services has begun to work with the university’s Food Services Taskforce to seek input on food choices, quality and value.
