Introducing Alertus, the university’s new emergency mass notification system

The Office of Campus Safety has replaced the Campus Incident Response Emergency Notification System (CIRENS) with the Alertus App.

The university will use Alertus to notify faculty, staff and students of high-priority, active threats on campus that could affect their immediate safety (e.g. violent aggressor, secure-and-hold or urgent evacuation).

The initial emergency notification will go out to the university community through Alertus as quickly as possible. The Emergency Management Response Team will ensure timely distribution of subsequent communications through:

Note: Alertus is not meant to replace the Â鶹´«Ã½ Mobile app. Faculty and staff should download both apps to ensure they receive immediate information regarding high-risk threats, as well as important news and events, the Weekly Report, staff discounts, easy access to campus services and more.
