Spaces available at the Campus Childcare Centre
The Campus Childcare Centre (CCC) is currently accepting infants and children aged two months to six years into its daycare program for the fall. Registration is open to children of university faculty, staff and students, as well as members of the community.
Located at 202 Simcoe Street North, the CCC is at a convenient midpoint between Â鶹´«Ã½ University’s north and downtown Oshawa locations.
The CCC has a long-standing reputation as being one of the best daycares in the community, with several unique characteristics setting it apart from other daycare centres. While most child-care facilities only require one fully qualified early childhood educator (ECE) staff member in each room of care, all of the CCC’s 14 staff members are ECE-qualified, including the cook. The centre also caters to students’ and staff members’ schedules by offering special evening programs during the school year’s busy periods, such as exam time.
The CCC’s staff is dedicated to providing a consistent, caring environment for children, with a stimulating program and abundant learning experiences. Facilitated by staff, children develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally through child-centred learning in an environment that uses interest centres to promote group interaction and individual exploration. Children are free to choose from a variety of available experiences, which are designed to meet the needs of each child.
Program activities include:
- communication
- drama
- group activities
- math
- motor development
- music and creative movement
- science
- self-help
- sensory
- visual arts
The CCC accepts children with special needs who participate in the daily curriculum and individual programs.
