Participate in Phase 2 of the Ontario government’s data strategy consultations

The Government of Ontario is beginning the second round of public consultations for the development of its new (to be released at the end of 2019), which will guide how data is used and protected in Ontario, while helping businesses innovate in the digital economy.

The government has launched a new online platform, , to help Ontarians participate in the conversation about the strategy. On EngageON, Ontarians can download a discussion paper and participate in an online dialogue about it. This discussion paper (the first of three) focuses on the first key pillar of the strategy: promoting public trust and confidence. The province will release the next two papers online for public comment in the coming months.

Ontarians can also visit EngageON to:

  • Submit formal, written input about Ontario’s data strategy.
  • Register for in-person events in six communities across Ontario (Sarnia, Stratford, Sault Ste. Marie, Peterborough and Ottawa, with more potential locations to come).
