FESNS researcher appointed President of Canadian Radiation Protection Association
, Professor, (FESNS) is the new President of the (CRPA), effective May 30. He will serve in this role until May 2020.
The CRPA seeks to advance the development and communication of scientific knowledge and practical means for protecting people and their environment from the harmful effects of radiation consistent with the optimal use of radiation for the benefit of society.
As President of the CRPA, Dr. Waller will promote the importance of radiation safety on a national and international stage. He will also work toward:
- Encouraging the next generation of radiation safety professionals to participate in the CRPA at an early stage by raising awareness about the value of CRPA membership among students and young radiation safety professionals.
- Making the CRPA all-inclusive for the broad spectrum of people working in the radiation safety field and increasing engagement with the CRPA across the nuclear power industry.
