Registration open for Summer STEAM Camp 2019
This year, the Faculty of Education’s STEAM-3D Maker Lab will run its first-ever summer camp for children in grades 4 through 9. For one week in July, campers will learn about plants and emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT).
Activities include:
- Discovering ecosystems, plants and best practices for gardens.
- Exploring IoT and designing self-sustaining ‘smart’ gardens using Micro:bits, Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
- Exploring fun maker technologies including 3D printing, robotics, circuitry, augmented reality/virtual reality and coding.
Using these tools, students will be able to dream big and create innovative smart designs with sensors, processors, actions and reactions!
- When: Monday July 15 through Friday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.*
- Where: STEAM-3D Maker Lab, Education Building, 11 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, Ontario
- Cost: $150 (plus taxes) - includes free Friday pizza lunches as well as t-shirts, snacks and take-home tech kits!
* Before and after care available for an additional fee of $50 per week.
