Temporary relocation of services in Student Life and U6 buildings
In preparation for the start of construction of the university’s new Student Centre (to be completed in 2021), the Student Life and U6 buildings will be moved to their temporary new location at the west end of Founders Lot 2.
To allow for this move, the following services will temporarily relocate to other buildings on campus in phases:
Relocation schedule
Tuesday, April 16:
- Career Centre moves to UL Building, Room 1
- Student Learning Centre moves to UL Building, Room 4
- Math Study Hall and Writing Room move to UL Building, Room 6
Tuesday, April 23:
- Student Accessibility Services moves to UL Building, Room 2
- Student Engagement and Equity, and International office move to UL Building, Room 3
Tuesday, April 30:

Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8:

- Furniture moved out of Student Life Building.
These services will remain in these temporarily locations until the Student Life and U6 building move is completed in early August. After this, the services will move back into their respective original locations within these buildings. Updates will be provided as they become available.
The university expects minimal disruption to the surrounding spaces during this transition. There will be a moving truck parked on Founders Drive near the Student Life Building while the moves take place.
Additional notes:
- Student Life services at the university’s downtown Oshawa location (61 Charles Street Building) are not affected by this move.
- Mukwa’s Den (inside the Student Life Building) will close for the summer; however, the UOIT Baagwating Indigenous Student Centre (151 Athol Street East) is open to faculty, staff and students.
