Awareness tables: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
Indigenous women and girls are overrepresented among missing and murdered people in Canada. This is due to systemic racism, sexism and neglect Indigenous women face. It is a national human rights crisis.
To raise awareness, the team will host information tables in the Science Building and the 61 Charles Street Building during the last week of November.
Stop by to learn about this issue as well as the , an initiative that serves as a visual representation of the staggering number of missing Indigenous women and girls. Informational handbills and REDress buttons will be handed out.
When and where:
North Oshawa location - Science Building, Founding Deans Atrium:
- Tuesday, November 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, November 29 from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Friday, November 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Downtown Oshawa location - 61 Charles Street Building:
- Wednesday, November 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
