Banner/FAST/Web Reports authentication changes

The login method for several administrative systems changed on October 1.

This will affect employees who use:

  • Banner
  • Web reports
  • FAST

Banner

Banner now uses your network credentials (the same username and password used to log in to your computer each day). Banner users should delete any existing bookmarks and shortcuts, and access Banner by visiting banner.mycampus.ca. Please note: you must use Internet Explorer as the web browser for Banner. If Internet Explorer is not your default web browser, copy and paste the link into Internet Explorer or save as a favourite.

Although you log in with your network credentials, you will need your Banner username and password for some background processes. The first time you log in using network credentials, you will be prompted for your current Banner password.

You will be required to change your Banner password every 120 days, and will receive an email when it’s time to change it. The password change email will have a link to the Banner password reset utility; this link will not be available from Banner directly. After you change your password, Banner will prompt you at first login to sync your newly selected password with your network credentials.

Student employees with Banner access will log in to Banner using their network credentials (do not use the S-account).

FAST

FAST now uses your network credentials. Your Banner username and password used prior to October 1 will still be used for some background processes in FAST. You will be required to change your Banner password every 120 days, and will receive an email when it’s time to change it. The password change email will have a link to the Banner password reset utility; this link will not be available from FAST directly.

  • .

Web Reports

The Web Reports login method has not changed, as they are based on older technology that does not integrate with the new network authentication process for Banner. When you select a Web Report link, the login screen will appear. Use your Banner username and password just as you do today (not your network credentials).

You will be required to change your Banner password every 120 days, and will receive an email when it’s time to change it. The password change email will have a direct link to the Banner password reset utility.
